Dr Crispian Tarrant, Chief Executive

Cris is a renowned industry commentator and is regularly in demand to advise senior management teams. He has presented at many industry conferences including events organised by Deloitte & Touche, the Hotel Marketing Association, ESOMAR and others.  He currently claims to be on first name terms with two FTSE-100 CEOs (David and Alan, as it happens) but not yet Martin or Clive!
Cris has a Geography 1st from Durham and a PhD from Manchester.

Ian Stevens, Director

Ian is a founder director of BDRC. His broad-ranging experience of financial and retail research includes particular expertise in the fields of distribution/service delivery, customer satisfaction, new product development, acquisition/retention strategies and customer segmentation studies.
Ian, who graduated with a BA from Leicester University, has an unhealthy interest in medieval history (not far removed from his other passion, rugby).

Tony Wornell, Director

Joined BDRC in 1992. He leads on public sector research as well as financial studies. He has particular experience in customer satisfaction, usage and attitude and market segmentation studies, and has presented papers at several seminars.
Tony is a geographer, with a 1st from London and a Master’s degree in Research Methods.
A fine cook and a devotee of Agas.  Also interested in Russia and, appropriately,  Chelsea FC.

Dr. Roger Donbavand, Director

Roger joined BDRC in 1999 and has over 20 years of research experience, both client-side and agency. An enthusiast for Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and commitment, he has presented papers and lectured on both subjects. Roger has a PhD in Social Geography from Nottingham University.
An enthusiast for opera, Roger finds our close proximity to Covent Garden most convenient.

Robert Dodds, Operations & Development Director

Robert freelanced for BDRC for several years as a qualitative researcher with gravitas (i.e. grey hair) conducting board level interviews. He consolidated this experience by joining full time in 2001.  He holds a number of 'portfolios' in BDRC, including marketing communications, business development, HR, technology and quality.
He has perhaps the only science degree in the company.  His interests include early music, canoeing and gardening.

Mark Long, Client Services Director

Mark joined BDRC in 2004 following time with a financial services research and consulting business.  Prior to that Mark spent 10 years as a client-side researcher at Barclaycard and Abbey.  He has extensive experience in designing and managing multi-client research programmes. In addition Mark can draw on extensive knowledge of the UK Retail Banking landscape and the IFA distribution channel.
Through good times and bad Mark is an ardent Arsenal supporter.

Steve Mills, Director TTL

Steve has extensive knowledge of the tourism, attractions, leisure and sports research sectors, including client side experience at Sport England.  A geography graduate from Exeter University, he is also a member of the Tourism Society and has been with MEW Research since 1998.
Through bad times and worse times, Steve is a keen Fulham supporter.

Alan Love, Director, TTL

Joined MEW Research in 1992 (which was acquired by BDRC in 2001).
Alan has enormous experience in researching the travel and leisure industries, in which he is well known, and is an active member of the Tourism Society.  His second degree is an MA in marketing.

 

Emma Bradbury, Research Director, TTL

Emma joined BDRC in 2005 after ten years in marketing, latterly with Eurostar and Historic Royal Palaces. Her experience gives her particular expertise in brand and marketing communications research; and ensuring that research insight finds its way to the heart of client planning.  Emma has a BA in Archaeology from UCL, and a masters in Archaeology and Heritage. For fun (!), Emma runs half marathons and travels as much as possible.
